Only 3 days until a possible vote! The written petition is only going around my high school before we send it in so if you haven’t signed yet you won’t be able to unless you go to my high school(McGavock). The online petition has reached 2182 signatures! Thanks to everyone from all over have been showing support for Tennessee!
The protest was great, despite a bit of rain. Judging from the signatures I got I’d say about 70 people showed up. The online petition has 1950 signatures, and Osama Bin Ladin died. The last part was a bit of a non sequitor but still is really good news so I thought I’d throw it in. I’ll upload pictures of the protest as soon as I can.
I’ve gotten a few emails asking if there is a minimum age to sign the petition so I want to make it known that their is not one. Me and my friend who made this petition are both 17 and 14 respectively, so do not worry about being a minor or anything like that.
The petition broke 1000 hits! Both the website and the petition have had a massive splurge of visitors in the past few hours. For those who don’t know, there is a protest tomorrow against the bill at the Tennessee State Capital in downtown Nashville(corner of 7th and charlotte) We will have the written petition there.
The ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill is on the agenda for this Thursday.
We have had less hits on the website today, a lot less. But the online petition passed 500 signatures! The protest is on sunday in Nashville at the Tennessee Capital Building from 10:30 to 12:30. We will have the written petition there. Please come if you can.

The vote on the bill has been moved back a week to Thursday the 5th of May. The website has 3000 hits about 38 hours after it’s launch and the online petition has broken 250 signatures about 37 hours after it’s conception.
Just to keep you updated, at approximately 21 hours after the website and petition launched we have over 100 hits on the website and 72 people who signed the petition. So far so good! We haven’t put up any posters yet but we’ve printed off a lot so as soon as we do that we can expect those numbers so snowball.
Our online petition is officially up. If you do not happen to live in the nashville area just click on the link below and you can join the movement.
We say gay for the students who won’t be able to. This site is dedicated to fight against the Tennessee state bill SB0049 (Don’t say gay bill), which would make it a misdemeanor to talk about homosexuality in grades below 9th. That is an obvious insult to our first amendment rights to free speech as well as it is a major blow to those young people who are shunned by their own parents for being gay and soon will not be able to talk to their school about it.
On this site we have collected some facts about the bill. We check and update the site daily or as updates about the bill come in. If you would like to sign the petition against this bill or help the fight just email me at email@example.com
